Private tutor in Seattle, WA
Education
Lewis & Clark College - Bachelors, Sociology and Anthropology
Experience
In high school, I went from rebellious near-drop out to straight-A student all on my own. I worked hard and dedicated myself to earning perfect scores on my SAT subject tests before getting accepted into Lewis and Clark College. I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in sociology and anthropology. While my primary career is in writing, I tutor elementary to high school students to support their educational success. I primarily offer English and writing tutoring, though I can also help students prepare for tests. I served as a counselor at an academic summer camp, a reading tutor for children, and a fifth-grade teacher. These experiences taught me how to help reluctant learners discover the fun in education. I'm available to help students prepare for standardized tests, learn to edit their essays, or improve their understanding of English grammar and syntax. As a tutor, I work hard with each student to help them achieve their goals in academic success. I enjoy seeing the joy a student has in understanding a subject for the first time. When I'm not writing or tutoring, I enjoy reading literature, exploring Seattle's culture, and improving my own knowledge in English and writing.
