Private tutor in Seattle, WA
University of Washington-Seattle Campus - Bachelors, Biology
Ever since I enrolled in my bachelor's program at the University of Washington, I've always been interested in education, digital arts, and science. In fact, my passion for science first started when I was in high school and had the privilege of studying biology with a teacher who was committed to teaching biology in a fun and engaging manner. From that moment onward, I became passionate about education and using my experience and knowledge to help others succeed in life. I believe that one of the components that make a tutor great is being able to inspire students to learn more in their personal time. Education is more than just memorizing definitions, completing exercises, and preparing for exams - it's also about learning more about the world and how that it works so that you're able to see things from a completely different point of view. For this reason, I like to teach using a student-centered approach that incorporates a lot of teaching aids, exercises, and hands-on activities so that the classroom never feels dull and boring. Because of this, I like to use my drawing skills to come up with funny educational graphics that make it easier for students to understand various difficult concepts in biology.
