Experience
I have taught English in China, and have years of tutoring experience in English, Reading, and Writing with children and adults. I have worked in the San Diego and Seattle school systems as well as volunteered for The International Rescue Committee in tutoring refugee women from Somalia. I grew up in a bilingual household (my parents spoke in Mandarin Chinese to me and vice versa), and later learned German in college through courses and by living in Germany for a year. Having had experience learning foreign languages, I feel that I have personal experience with how to best learn to communicate in both academic and informal/conversational settings.
