Experience

I am the oldest of six children, and I have been studying violin for the past 16 years. I have been teaching for the past five years, and I have found so much joy and vibrancy in it. I recently moved from Austin, Tx where I had a small violin studio, and so now, in Seattle, I am looking to build another studio. I especially enjoy working with children, and watching them begin to understand music. For me, teaching music has two very real components: the emotional component—which involves self motivation, and taking the initiative to work hard, and communicate real poignant emotion in one's playing. And there's the intellectual component where you have to deeply concentrate all of your person on the technique necessary to attain the end goal of making beautiful sound. Additionally, I have also spent the past five years pursuing excellence in piano and guitar, and I am well accomplished on both. My compositions have been performed in venues from Atlanta to Seattle and they have been well received by faculty in universities and artists alike.
