Private tutor in Seattle, WA
Clark University - BA, Comparative Literature
I have years of teaching and tutoring experience, as a part of my degree program, as unpaid volunteer work, and as a source of income. Throughout this time, I have not only learned some extremely useful teaching techniques, but I have also discovered my love for teaching, which I've chosen as my vocation. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Clark University, an educational institution based in Worcester, Massachusetts. As a part of my degree, I chose to take graduate and undergraduate courses in education. This choice proved to be one that I would not regret. As part of my training in the field of education, I tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students in English and study preparation techniques. In particular, I have a great deal of experience in preparing students for the Analytical Writing and Verbal sections of the SAT, as I spent two years working with a non-profit group doing just that. English is definitely my specialty, and as part of my studies in the field of education I undertook a one-year teaching practicum teaching 12th grade English classes. I am a strong believer that reading and writing are fundamental skills that are extremely useful in later life.
