Experience

Hi! My name is Bayley, and I'm excited that you may be interested in having me help you with your studies! Professionally, I have tutored over a hundred students in the past few years in both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. Subjects I've tutored in the past include general biology, genetics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, calculus, and linear algebra. In terms of my formal education, I hold a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a second bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry and graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors). Most recently, over the past year I held the role of Science Subject Specialist at the Seattle University Learning Assistance Programs. In this position, I served as the lead tutor of the science tutoring program and helped oversee the program. I fulfilled CRLA's International Tutor Training Program to become an Advanced Certified Tutor, Level II. I have also worked at Seattle University's Math Lab over the past two years tutoring students in a range of math courses, including pre-calculus, calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. In addition to my professional history tutoring college students, I have also spent a year volunteering as a science and math tutor to high school students at a nearby alternative high school. I have scored extremely well on the ACT, SAT, and MCAT exams, so in addition to being able to offer academic support to students in terms of course-specific content, I can also offer study and test-taking strategies! In terms of my qualifications for tutoring math, I hold a bachelor of science in mathematics from Seattle University. I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 in all of my math courses. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I took multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, abstract algebra, real analysis, and Euclidean geometry, among other major courses. I also scored a perfect 36 on the math portion of the ACT and a perfect 800 on the Math SAT II Subject test. In terms of my qualifications for tutoring biology and chemistry courses, I hold a bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry and graduated summa cum laude from Seattle University. My undergraduate studies included courses in general biology, genetics, cell biology, plant biology, neurobiology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. I was awarded the General Chemistry Student of the Year and Organic Chemistry Student of the Year awards by the chemistry department at SU. I am particularly knowledgeable of organic chemistry and scored at the 99th percentile on the national ACS organic chemistry exam. I have taken the new, updated (2015) MCAT exam and performed well. I scored above the 97th percentile on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section and above the 93rd percentile on the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems section. My overall MCAT score was above the 94th percentile. This was after a single sitting for the exam. If you're interested in receiving tutoring from me, please feel free to contact me! In addition, if you would like to learn more about the tutoring services I offer or about my qualifications, you may send me a message and I will respond within 24 hours.
