Experience
Working with young people is my passion. I love learning and I'm committed to being a life long learner because I had some incredible role models along the way. It's important to me to model that love of learning to young people. I like helping students find the fun in school and learning. I've tutored both middle and high school students and I plan to start a Masters in Teaching to teach secondary school English/Language Arts spring semester of 2012. I currently work as a tutor full time at Thomas Jefferson High School in Federal Way. During the day I help in freshman, sophomore and junior classes. After school I facilitate an after school study club serving over 30 students a day. I've been extensively trained in tutorology, working with struggling students and working with English Language Learners. I work with both high risk students and students in our International Baccalaureate (IB) program. During college I worked as an after school tutor at 826 Valencia in San Francisco. I tutored middle school students in all academic subjects and helped middle schoolers create a monthly newspaper.
