Education

I graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in English (2006) and an MA in Linguistics (2008). As an undergraduate, I also minored in Spanish and Teaching English as a Second Language. I graduated with a 4.0 and was a valedictorian of my class. My MA thesis focused on ESL pedagogy and second language acquisition. I also worked as a graduate teaching assistant in ESL classes while completing my MA.

Experience

I worked for 10 years at the University of Florida English Language Institute, UF's intensive English program for international students. I spent 5 years as an ESL instructor, and another 5 as an administrator. During my time as an instructor, I taught classes in Listening/Speaking, Reading/Writing, Grammar, and Pronunciation. I recently moved to the Seattle area when my husband took a new job, and am excited to stay professionally active and stay connected with the international community. I loved my job at the UF ELI and can't wait to meet new students here!
