Experience

I studied English Literature, Spanish, and Philosophy at WWU. Since I graduated I have taught English abroad from Kindergarten to University students. I have lived and worked in Seoul, Korea and Badajoz, Spain. I also tutored various levels and ages in Badajoz outside of work. Besides my diverse teaching experience I have learned Spanish outside of the academic setting in Chile and Spain. I did a 5 month study abroad program in Valparaiso, Chile and worked for a year in Spain. This means I have an understanding of the vocabulary and grammar difference between Latin American Spanish and Spain Spanish. Teaching abroad has allowed me to continue my education and fund my own travel. I am 25 years old and have been to 30 countries. In my free time I have continued my passion for literature, creative writing, and drawing. I am a published writer and I am working on my own graphic novel. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy education and the opportunities that can grow from learning new things. For example, this summer I am taking a French class so that I can be multilingual one day. I think each age group has something fun and interesting about them and I know how to adapt tutoring sessions to every age group. Relevant classes I have taken: ENGLISH LITERATURE Literature of Rome & Empire, Utopia & Dystopia, English 310 19/20th century: African American Literature, English 308 16/17th century: Shakespeare & Philosophy, English 313 Critical History/Cultural Theory, English 309 18/19th century: National Identity Literature, English 370 Introduction to Language, English 307 Pre-16th century: Old/Middle English, English 351 Intro to Fiction Writing, English 423 Major Author: Hawthorne, English 451 Creative Writing Seminar: Fiction, English 406 Critical Theory: Deconstruction, English 418 Senior Seminar: Antebellum Narratives, English 302 Intro to Technical & Professional Writing SPANISH Introduction to Latina/o Literature, Spanish 201, Spanish 202, Spanish 203, Spanish 314 Phonetics, Spanish 340 Intro to Hispanic Literature, Spanish 352 Survey Latin American Literature, Spanish 401 Advance Grammar, Spanish 402 Advance Composition, Spanish 450 100 Anos de Soledad PHILOSOPHY Philosophy 114 Knowledge & Reality, Philosophy 102 Introduction to Logic, Philosophy 112 Moral Issues, Philosophy 350 Political Philosophy, Philosophy 400 Philosophy in Public Schools, Philosophy 364 History of Philosophy: Ancient, Philosophy 330 Metaphysics, Philosophy 310 Theory of Knowledge I
